The following Courses are available to FedEx employees only and can paid for through the participating employee's stipend or through your manager.

INDIVIDUALIZED COACHING:

One-to-one coaching opportunities for individuals who want to improve their overall communications including writing, presentations, and professionalism.

Writing Objectives:

  • Learn to plan, construct, and edit email.
  • Learn to understand the audience and be read.
  • Learn to recognize errors and common writing mistakes.
  • Learn and recognize common writing structure and tone.
  • (Participants' actual writing samples will be requested and analyzed for use during the coaching sessions.)

Presentation Objectives:

  • Learn a duplicable process to create and deliver presentations.
  • Learn and understand the importance of structure.
  • Learn better ways to develop examples and manage the message/story.

Logistics:

  • 1-hour session per week, for 4 weeks
  • One-to-one Coaching, Conference Room (ex. WTC, WHQ) or Virtual if Required.

Memphis-based employees are asked to choose In-Person courses as their first selections. Virtual courses are recommended for those who are not in the Memphis area. All courses listed above are filled on a first come, first served basis. Seats are limited. Failure to show on the day of training will result in 100% of cost due. Cancellation must be made no less than 48 hours in advance of the course date.

Business Presentations

Effective Business Presentations is one of our most popular and most important courses we teach. Each workshop is created specifically for the sponsoring organization and includes clear objectives for presentation success.

Objectives:
To identify and practice the essentials of a good presentation.
To understand the importance of the Text in a good presentation.
To learn the skills of Performance in a presentation.
To learn audience analysis and interaction skills.
To learn how to open and close a presentation effectively.
To learn how to use notes effectively.
To learn a duplicable process and use that process to create and deliver presentations quickly and easily.

Method:
Seminar members view themselves as learners and teachers as they critique one another's presentations during the workshop.

Course Structure:
Participants move through an understanding of the elements of a good presentation, including the purpose, the plan, the supporting data, and the conclusion.
Participants learn how to assess text by critiquing exercises presented by the instructor and their peers.
The workshop concludes with a video-recorded 10-15 minute presentation by each participant, in which they may use PowerPoint and take questions.

Custom Training

Although all our training courses are designed for the sponsoring organization, some courses are custom designed to meet a company's very specific needs.

Customized training begins with careful evaluations of the team, its processes, and its needs. Examples include:

  • Train-the-Trainer - Preparing individuals to become corporate trainers, preparing a curriculum, developing exercises, and developing trainer's guidebooks.
  • Team Building Skills - Developing exercises that build teams; by reviewing the successes, failures, and difficulties being experienced by management and team members.
  • Customer Service Skills - Evaluating calls, developing "unscripted scripts," and training agents to better serve customers.

One-to-One Coaching:
All of the communication training outlined on our website is available through one-to-one coaching sessions. These sessions begin with careful evaluations of the professional's communication needs and then these needs are addressed through a series of one-to-one, in-person, coaching sessions.

Coaching sessions vary in length, but most average from 3 to 8 sessions for 1-hour at a time.

Business Writing

Effective Business Writing is intended to create better communicators through better writing. In today's business, we are data writers, we are negotiators, we are sales people, we have business needs. How do we communicate these needs through writing?

Objectives:
To review the basics of appropriate business writing.
To establish a process and a structure for specific data communication
To clarify a means to communicate complex data for different levels of readers.
To understand your audience and convey the correct message through appropriate tone and detail.
To eliminate the most common format, grammar, and usage mistakes.

Method:
Exercises and model formats developed from pre-course analysis.
Examination of "before" and "after" writing samples for understanding.
Working from “real-life” examples including Reports, Presentations, and Emails.
